Result of "Fax for Peace" Cartoon Competition 2010

For the section of kindergarten and elementary first place went to Mahfouz Seyed Hesamaddin (Miyaneh, Iran); second Beyda Topfu (Bursa, Turkey) and Richard Persello (Sedegliano). For middle schools, winner Burhan Demircan (Boyabat, Turkey); second Kuznetsov Pasha (Ozersk, Russia) and Eren Biceno (Bursa, Turkey). For high school: the first Christian Lombard (Casale Monferrato), Matthias Precisvalle seconds (same place) and Ogulcan Yilmaz (Kadikoy, Turkey). For satire, first prize in Azad Maryam (Iran), according to Carlos Fuentes David Hierrezuelo (Cuba) and Aldo Bortolotti (Bergamo). Artists Category: first place to Angel Mora Ramiro Zapata (Colombia), followed by Henryk Cebula (Poland) and Ponciano by Daniel Silva (Brazil). The President's Medal was awarded to Mohammad Ali Khalaji (Tehran, Iran). Finally, the first premium video Cucculelli Sonia (Rome), according to Hermes Mangialardo (Cupertino).

The results of II BIENAL of HUMOUR “LUÍS D’OLIVEIRA GUIMARÃES” - PENELA 2010 (Portugal)

On 7th May 2010 at 17h00, the Jury of the Second Biennial of Humor Louis d 'Oliveira Guimarães gathered in the Grand Hall of the City of Penela,.

   This jury was formed by the Vice-Mayor of Penela Antonio Jose Alves dos Santos Antunes, Mário José Rodrigues Duarte, Jorge Antunes Carlos Pereira; Renato Barroso (representing the family of Luís d'Oliveira Guimarães), Osvaldo Macedo de Sousa (Artistic Director of the Biennale) and Rui Pimentel (cartoonist).

   After an exhaustive analysis of the 297 graphic works in the competition, the jury deliberated to award the following prizes:

1st Prize - "Becket" of Santiagu (Portugal)

  2nd Prize - "Prompter" of Yuri Kosobukin (Ukraine)

   3rd Prize - "Theatre and Poverty" by Agim Sulaj - (Albania)

  

  Nothing further to discuss, the meeting was closed, and this document was signed after being read by all members of the jury.

2010 FIFA WORLD CUP CARTOON COMPETITION

South Africa will become the first African country to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup, starting from 11 June to 11 July 2010. South Africa made its final presentation to host the World Cup to FIFA's Executive Committee at the Trade Centre in Zurich on 14 May 2004. On 15 May 2004, FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, announced that South Africa would be the host of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Thirty-two countries have qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Six of these are from Africa, namely: South Africa, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Cameroon and Algeria. The rest of the qualified countries are Japan, the Netherlands, Korea Democratic People’s Republic, Australia, Korea Republic, United States of America, Brazil, England, Paraguay, Spain, Denmark, Chile, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Serbia, Switzerland, Argentina, Honduras, Slovakia, France, Portugal, Slovenia, Greece, Uruguay and New Zealand.

The World Cup will take place in eight of South Africa’s nine provinces, using 10 stadiums in nine host cities. Five of the 10 stadiums are new and the rest have been upgraded for the event. Johannesburg, as South Africa’s economic hub, is the only city with two venues for the world cup, namely Soccer City and Ellis Park. Other host cities are Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Polokwane, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and Rustenburg.

RULES

1. CONTESTANTS

The competition is open to all amateur and professional cartoonists.

2. MODALITY AND FORMATS

Work must be carried out in black and white or in colour. The work minimum must be of 3500 x 2480 pixels, with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels an inch.

3. PRESENTATION

Contestants must send in an e-mail supplying their names, surnames, address, date of birth and a contact telephone number. This e-mail must contain an attachment with the graphics work file in JPG format.

4. E-MAIL

All Works, together with the author's personal information, must be sent via e-mail to: fifacartoon@yahoo.com .



5.Number of entries

max : 20

6.Deadline

July 11st 2010.

7. PRIZES

1st Prize: 500 Euros.

2nd Prize: 300 Euros.

3rd Prize: 200 Euros.

8. THE JURY

A qualified jury will choose the best works. Prize giving will take place in August 2010.

9. OTHER

Participation in competition means the consent of authors to all conditions, including on gratuitous publication of works in any form.
