The Council of Santomera has organized this competition according to the following RULES:

1. All professional cartoonists or not of any countries may take part in this competition.
2. Each cartoonist can submit 2 originals, being essential that the original works have not been submitted to a previous competition.

3. TOPIC: "GLOBALIZATION, SOCIAL EXCLUSION AND SOLIDARITY".

4. The works must be original, any painting technique being accepted. Top quality prints of works achieved by digital tools will be considered originals as long as the author sings them, and with the indication that it is Print n?.
5. The format of the works will be maximum 30x42 cm without frame.

6. The following PRIZES have been established:
1st PRIZE: 1000 euro
2nd PRIZE: 700 euro
Two runners-up: 200 euro
Special prize best work in Murcia's Region: 200 euro
Special prize best work in Santomera: Graphic Tablet (worth 200 euros).

7. The entries should be submitted from 11th January until 26th February 2010 by 14:00. No work will be accepted after that limit time.

10. The jury panel will be made up by members designated by the Women, Equal Opportunities, Elderly and Immigration Department of the city council. The decisions of the Jury will be final and will be made public on 9th March 2010. The jury has the right to declare the prizes deserted.
11. The selected works will be exhibited from 29th March until 30th April 2010 in the premises of Casagrande in Santomera.
12. The entries will be judged according to the following criteria: Quality, originality and relation with the chosen theme. Entries transmitting positive messages will be especially valued.
13. The prize-winning works will become the property of the Council of Santomera and will not be returned to their authors. The authors accept that the City Council will have all the exploitation rights over the work for its reproduction, public communication and distribution.
14. Non-award winning entries will be returned to their authors, provided that this has been clearly stated in the identification label (works which do not respect the contest's rules will not be returned). These works will be returned once the Council of Santomera has concluded the programmed exhibitions.

27. Aydin Dogan International Cartoon Competition 2010



The Aydin Dogan International Cartoon Competition is held every year in Turkey by the Aydin Dogan Foundation. The competition is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all over the world.

General Information

1) Choice of subject is free.
2) Only original cartoons or internet print outs signed by the cartoonists will be accepted for the competition. Photographs, photocopies, etc... will not be accepted.
3) Size of cartoons should not exceed 29.7 x 42cm (A3 paper size).
4) Participants are expected to send the filled out participation form, with a short curriculum vitae and a photograph, together with their cartoons. Please find the form attached to this booklet and posted on www.aydindoganvakfi.org.tr . The documents should be sent to:

Aydin Dogan Foundation, Oymaci Sokak, No:15, Altunizade 34662, Istanbul / Turkey.

5) The Foundation will not be responsible for any damage that may occur during postage and handling.
6) Award-winning cartoons will not be returned to the artists.
7) By filling out the participation form, the participant declares and accepts in advance that (s)he hands over the financial rights (s)he holds over the cartoons vis-?vis the public to the Aydin Dogan Foundation without limitations on location, time period and number including assignment to third parties under Articles 21-25 of the Law on Intellectual Property Rights for publication. 土耳其第16届国际漫画节将是从4月十六号至19日，2010年期间举行81th儿童节活动，这是庆祝我国每年的4月23日英寸国际7-77漫画大赛将安排在第16届国际安卡拉卡通节。比赛的目的是使儿童的漫画艺术熟悉和丰富作出贡献的漫画你将以此帮助他们走向世界的幽默灵敏度的发展。

16th International Ankara 7-77 Cartoon Festival - Turkey



The 16th International Ankara Cartoon Festival is going to be held from April 16th to 19th, 2010 during the 81th Children's Day activities, which are celebrated in our country every year in on the 23rd April . The international 7-77 Cartoon Competition will be organized under the 16th International Ankara Cartoon Festival. The aim of the competition is to make children familiar with the art of cartooning and to contribute the development of sensitivity towards humor by enriching their world with the help of cartoons you will draw.

All professional and amateur cartoonists will be welcomed to join in by drawing cartoons for children. Cartoons can be drawn in black-white or colorful using any technique in either A4 or A3 size.

Cartoonists can join in the competition with an original cartoon that can be understood by children. Competitors must write their names, surnames and addresses on the back of their cartoons.

The deadline for the competition is February 15th, 2010. Cartoons should be sent to the following address:

Zivojin Pavlovic ZIKISON, (1885 - 1950) Was a Satirist, a caricaturist, an editor, a publisher, and a printer. Between two wars in Serbia he was an actuator, a Co - Author editor of many newspapers for humor and satire. He has been suffering and imprisoned by Communist Regime in 1949. Soon after that torture and seizing his property, he was died in 1950.

Stanislaw Jerzy Lec, (6 March 1909 - 7 May 1966) (born Baron Stanislaw Jerzy de Tusch-Letz) was a Polish poet and aphorist of Polish and Jewish noble origin. Often mentioned among the greatest writers of post-WW2 Poland, he was one of the most influential aphorists on the 20th century.
Lyrical poetry, sceptical philosophical-moral aphorisms, often with a political subtext.

Jaroslav Hasek, (April 30, 1883 - January 3, 1923) was a Czech humorist and satirist best known for his novel The Good Soldier 妚ejk, an unfinished collection of farcical incidents about a soldier in World War I, which has been translated into sixty languages. He also wrote some 1,500 short stories. He was a journalist, bohemian, and practical joker. His short life had many odd parallels with another Prague contemporary, the Jewish writer Franz Kafka (1883-1924).

Radoje Domanovic, (February 4, 1873 - August 4, 1908) was a Serbian writer and teacher, most famous for his satirical short stories. In 1899, he published two collections of short stories and his famous story "Danga" first appeared. The following year, he got a post as a clerk in the State's Archive. In 1902, after he published "Stradija", he was again dismissed from his post. He started writing editorials for magazine "Odjek" ("Reflection"). After the coup in 1903, Domanovic returned to his post, and soon got a stipend to work on his stories. It was rumoured that the coup saved his life, since he was on a list for liquidation of the previous government. In 1904, he started a magazine "Stradija", that had 35 editions.

Works must be original and kind graphical technique will be accepted, including digital artwork if the prints are signed and if they are Print Number One. Prints digital artworks must be min. 300 dpi TIFF. Copies will be not accepted.

A. PARTICIPATION
The organizer of the 15th International festival of cartoon ZAGREB 2010 is the Croatian Cartoonist Association. The festival is opened for everyone regardless of nationality, age, sex, or profession.

C. ENTRIES
Conditions of entry:
1. Original works and digital artwork will be accepted. Digital artwork is to be numbered in pencil on the front and pencil signed. Copies cannot be admitted.
2. Entries can be either black and white or coloured.
3. There should be the name, the surname and the address on the reverse side of cartoons.
4. The cartoons must not have been previously awarded on festivals.
5. Maximum 3 entries will be submitted.
6. Size of entries is A4 or A3 format.

Texts may not be used to bring the message in the drawing. He also wrote some 1,500 short stories. He was a journalist, bohemian, and practical joker. His short life had many odd parallels with another Prague contemporary, the Jewish writer Franz Kafka (1883-1924).

Radoje Domanovic, (February 4, 1873 - August 4, 1908) was a Serbian writer and teacher, most famous for his satirical short stories. In 1899, he published two collections of short stories and his famous story "Danga" first appeared. The following year, he got a post as a clerk in the State's Archive. In 1902, after he published "Stradija", he was again dismissed from his post. He started writing editorials for magazine "Odjek" ("Reflection"). After the coup in 1903, Domanovic returned to his post, and soon got a stipend to work on his stories. It was rumoured that the coup saved his life, since he was on a list for liquidation of the previous government. In 1904, he started a magazine "Stradija", that had 35 editions.

Young Talent Cartoon Competition - France National Library

Workers' Rights International Cartoon Exhibition - Portugal





International Cartoon Exhibition - Exploitation and workers?rights, a critical look through a humoristic Line!

At a moment like this, in which, with the excuse of the actual economic crisis, the exploitation and the assault to the rights of the workers, in order to pursue with the accumulation of scandalous profits by economic groups, the Portuguese Communist Party challenged Humorgrafe to collaborate in some journeys of reflection with the participation of cartoonists from all around the world and from different political and ideological choices to, from their own philosophical and humoristic thoughts, contribute to this initiative - Exploitation and workers' rights through a humoristic line, with their artistic works about the important questions that at this moment, affect millions of Portuguese and worldwide workers: the unemployment, the low wages and the precarious job.

a) The PCP, in collaboration with Humorgrafe prepares a journey of enlightenment about the rights of workers. The struggle for the dignity of labour, the exploitation of millions of human beings and the outrageous profits of big business, increasing unemployment and social trail of destruction, the struggle of workers as a factor of rupture and change the life of the population, are elements compelling when we look at the world in which we live.

We invite cartoonists from around the world to meditate on various topics within this area include: job insecurity as a factor in the return to a past without rights, low wages versus paying a fortune for managers and scandalous profits, unemployment and its trail of poverty, destruction wealth and productive capacity.

b) Each artist can participate up to 4 entries, in black and white (one colour) sent by e-mail (300 dpi - jpeg) to humorgrafe_oms@yahoo.com . Sending work to the exhibition requires the waiver of copyright for publications (with no lucrative aims) of these journeys.

c) The deadline is February 26th 2010, and the exhibition opened next March 18th, in Lisbon. Eventually the exhibition will be displayed in other locations.

d) The work will be selected by jury for the exhibition catalogue and other publications involved in this event - Exploration and workers' rights by the stroke of humor. The campaign held it during the years 2010 / 2011 Selected works may be used by prosecutors in this period of this initiative. All artists will be notified and will receive two copies of all publications (on paper) where they used their work.

e) It is a project with the organization of the Portuguese Communist Party, Humorgrafe production, and as artistic director Osvaldo Macedo de Sousa.

What is a "Caretoon?
It is an original cartoon that reflects a positive theme. The theme for 2010 is "Heroes of Character"

Cartoonists should create original artwork expressing the core values that unite us all... friendship, tolerance, justice, faith and courage.

Who should enter?
The Caretoon Contest is open to anyone interested in participating.
All ages and levels of artistic ability are invited to submit an entry (ies).

Judging:
Entries will be judged in two categories: Adults (age 18 or older) and Students (under age 18) Caretoons will be judged by a panel of professional cartoonists, educators, Museum staff and others.
Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and message. All judges' decisions are final.

Prizes:
A $1000. prize will be awarded in each of the two categories.

How to create a Caretoon:
A Caretoon must be your original creation.
Caretoons featuring copyrighted or pre-designed clip art or other images are not acceptable.
You can create your Caretoon freehand or electronically.
Caretoons may be created in black & white or in color.
Caretoons must include a graphic; text is optional.
Each Caretoon must be presented on a separate 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.
Caretoons may be any size provided they fit on an 8.5 x 11 sheet.

How to enter the contest:

Real identity of Molla Nasreddin: An interview with Koksal Ciftci



I know Koksal Ciftci as a proficient researcher who is very careful. Books which he has written are a collection of his trying and gathering historical documentations. In my recent trip to Istanbul they had arranged an intimate party at Muhittin Koroglu house. We discussed with Koksal from noon up to night. Oktay, Akram, and Koroglu also were there at night. Writing about Molla Nasreddin real personality (Ahi Avren Haj Nasreddin ebne Mahmoodol Khoyi) by Koksal was so interesting to me that I asked him to publish an abstract of our talking in Tabrizcartoons site .He accepted with humility and asked to see Turkish text too. You read real life of Molla Nasreddin and his hostility with Molana and reason and how he was killed in detail which is a collection of our talking in hours.

Molla Nasreddin real personality discovered after hundreds of years:

- Do you remember his real name?

- I should a little think "Ahi Avren Haj Nasreddin ebne Mahmood Khoyi"

- Then in fact he was our same provincial because my mother also is from Khoy suburbs.

- That's true 厃ou are real grandchildren of Molla Nasreddin ?

- Well, what's the meaning of Ahi Avren?

- Ahis was a group of traders' people who they were living in Turkey . The root of this word means "old of traders" and Avren is called to the heaven turn .Avren originally is calling to snake because of this turning. Ahis were overpopulation. They had war training and also they were as war force.

- Was Molla Nasreddin a trader?

- Yes he was fostering snake and by extracting their poison and selling it to doctors as an antitoxin he was working, this was his job.

- And that was clear from ebne Mahmoodol Khoyi, it means Mahmood's son from Khoy city.

- He was from Khoy which is near your city.

- Maybe for this reason Mirza Jalil in 1906 called his publication "Molla Nasreddin" because they were from Khoy too.

- And maybe not卼hey weren't aware of this. We can not say anything definite.

- But what is definite?

- That is he learned primary lessons near his father in Khoy and when he grew up and get older he went Samarqand and learned common educations then he went Baghdad and caliph send him to Anadolou that was a land where Saljoogiyan still had remained there . He lived many years in Anadolou ( Turkey ) with traders. Also he was doing tanning.

He was fostering snake in tanner house at basement. This is all about Molla Nasreddin's lifelong when he was living in "Ghirshahr". Finally he became a minister in Saljoogiyan palace and he was also teacher of king's children. He taught courtiers ' children and king's children also were living near him.

- The story is worth hearing. Do you notice at first Ahi Avren is that Molla Nasreddin? One of our cartoonists Mr. Latifi had guessed he was living in Molana era. His writing conformity with yours is interesting for me.

Are you telling his real personality certainly for the first time?

- No, There is a great one in knowing Molana, he is Professor Michael Byram.

- Why Molla Nasreddin became Molla Nasreddin?

- Molana in Ghooniyeh which was the capital got friend with moguls, moguls had come for destroying other Saljooghiyan. Molla Nasreddin mobilized traders to fight against moguls but moguls defeated Saljooghiyan and because Molla Nasreddin was minister they banished him to "Ghirshahr".

- Molana sent governor-generals who were moguls' patron to different cities. One of Molana's disciples as Girshahr general was chosen and sent. His first work was to kill Molla Nasreddin, 90 years old. When Molana became moguls colleague, for fighting with Molla Nasreddin he used writing arms. A best arm was satire armor. As Molana had come from Syria to Anadolou he knew Arabs' Joha and its satire so he used them against Molla Nasreddin.

- Wait a minute; was the personality of Johi or Johi Nasreddin different from Molla Nasreddin?

- Yes, he didn't have Nasreddin suffix. Joha means ignorant and ridicule and Joha hasn't satire. In Masnavi, Molana has entitled satire to Molla Nasreddin.

Molavis propagated obscene satire to destroy honor Molla Nasreddin, but to the contrary and for confronting with this behavior Turkmen and ordinary people entitled meaningful satires to molla Nasreddin.

- Then Molla Nasreddin didn't have comic characteristic?

- No

- Then why they entitled to Molla Nasreddin?

- I told that he was tanning. He was leader of traders. It was Ideology war. Competitor should be deleted in there. They were doing personality terror. This was a current way in those times. Also in Iran Khayam and Saadi used those social satires and comic currently.

- Why Molana was enemy with Molla Nasreddin?

Molla Nasreddin was the leader of Ahis. You consider Sham, the center of Omaviyan, against Baghdad , the center of Abbasiyan. For keeping Baghdad they should be assured that Ahis wouldn't attack from the back so they should killed the head of Ahis and you notice that after killing Molla Nasreddin they attacked to Baghdad .

- Is his tomb in Aghshahr as they say?

- After Molla Nasreddin death, Ahis scattered his bones. Everyone made a tomb in every city. His real tomb is in Ghirshahr but Aghshahr hasn't been forgotten between cities and for tourists attraction it has been enlarged and presented important.

- It was avery sweet discussion, Koksal; I hope Tabriz Cartoons' readers enjoy it.

18th International Exhibition of Cartoon Press - Brazil 2010



Deadline: March 6, 2010

PORTO ALEGRE's City Hall, through the municipal Office of culture, communicates the interested, the regulation and chronograph of the 18th INTERNATIONAL DRAWING CONTEST FOR PRESS, as it follows: This regulation has the goal to select artist for the 18th INTERNATIONAL DRAWING CONTEST FOR PRESS that will happen from March 25 to May 09, 2010, with the goal to stimulate and divulge, in a wide way, the graphic expression applied to press, besides giving prizes to each one of the categories described below.

ABOUT THE REGISTRATIONS:

The registration may be done from February 5th to March 5th, 2010, on Av. Presidente Jo鉶 Goulart, 551, Sala 603 - Setor de Mostras e Exposi珲es, CEP 90010-120 - Porto Alegre/RS (Brazil), from Monday to Friday, from 10 to 12h and from 14 to 17h or via e-mail salao.press.portoalegre@gmail.com.

To the Works sent by mail or e-mail, the deadline will be also March 05, with the date on the postal stamp of the envelope, and date of the e-mail sent. Works selected or rewarded on previous editions of this contest will not be accepted.

ABOUT THE PARTICIPANTS:

The contest is destined to professionals and amateurs, on the modalities Cartoon, Comical Cartoon, Caricature, Comics and Editorial Illustration (to newspaper, magazine, book, album cover, cover, etc.).

The registered Works on the modality Editorial Illustration must have been effectively published from March 2009 to January 2010, and must be with the original page of the publication, with date and name of the periodic identified. The participants may register 05 (five) works distributed on any one of the 05 (five) categories.

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION OF THE WORKS:

As it is a Contest of Graphic Arts, there will also be considered as originals the printed works by printers or any other type of image reproduction, but they must be in high quality. However, it is participant's choice to send their originals.
The registered works must be on the Max format of 42cm x 29,7cm (A3). The registered works on the modality Comics may have four (04) pages of 42cm x 29,7cm (A3).

The works shall be conditioned in opaque and resistant paper. The Organization Committee is not responsible for damages to the works and/or not identified. The participants must observe with criteria the following instructions:

-Send, with the works, the registration form that is on the end of this regulation, with all the items filled in a legible way.
-All the originals must be properly identified with author's full name, type of registration, title, category they are applying and editing of the hall that is participating on the back of works. In the case of Editorial illustration should also inform the publication of full details (name, date, page). Papers submitted electronically should include this information in the nomination file.
By not following this instructions will imply the disqualifications of the works.

ABOUT THE SELECTION:

Porto Alegre's City Hall will assign, through the portaria published on the Di醨io Oficial de Porto Alegre -DOPA, a Selection Committee and other rewarding, composed by cartoonists, journalists, graphic artists, and representatives of the Municipal Office of Culture.
The Selection Committee will have as main criteria the creativity, new idea and plastic quality of the drawings and will select obeying the following propose:
-All the selected Works will participate on the exposition of the Contest on the exhibition hall of the Manor Vasco Prado at Usina do, Pres., Jo鉶 Goulart, 551, Porto Alegre / RS, from 25 March to 11 May, 2010.

The list of selected papers will be available from March 19, 2010, at site http://www.portoalegre.rs.gov.br/smc/cap/editais.

The rewarded relation will be published on the occasion of the solemnity of opening of the Contest. The selected and rewarded relation will be published on DOPA (Diario Oficial de Porto Alegre). About the Judging Committee that judge the presented Works, in reason of not presenting what was requested, there will be able a administrative resource of 05 (five) week-days, with protocol of the Graphic Art Coordination.

The presented resource will be judge of the Max period of 05 (five) week days.

ABOUT THE REWARDING:

One (01) prize will be given in the value of R$ 1.000,00 (one thousand reais) to each of the 5 categories: Cartoon, Comical Cartoon, Comics and Editorial Illustration. The guiding criteria are, once again, creativity, new iea and plastic quality of the drawings.

Honorable mentions may be given, according to the decision of the Rewarding Committee.

Single Paragraph: The rewarded Works will become part of the property of the Municipal Artistic Collection.

The prizes not requested in 90 (ninety) days, counting from the publication of the result, will loose it value.

ABOUT THE DEVOLUTION:

The not-selected Works will be available to devolution from March 29 to April 09, 2010, on the same place and time of the registration. From that date on we will not hold responsibility for the works that are not properly taken.

THERE WILL HAPPEN NO DEVOLUTION BY MAIL OF ANY OF THE WORKS THAT CAME FROM OTHER CITIES.

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

The selected works may be used by the Porto Alegre's City Hall, to divulge the event, with no costs.

The registration on this contest implies the acceptance of this regulation; the cases that will not follow it will be decided by the Organization Committee, according to the law 8666/93.

The Selection and Rewarding Committees will be sovereign on it's decisions. According to the law 8666/93, 9th article, the members of the Selection and Rewarding Committees, as well as the servers of the Porto Alegre's City Hall, cannot participate on this contest.

The cost of the prizes of this contest will run for the budget allocation 1003.2481.339031. The prizes will be given after the publication of the results and after the resource period. The cases shall be resolved by the organizing committee.

FASI International Graphics, Satire, and Humor Contest - Italy



Regulations

FASI, the Federation Association of Sardinians in Italy, invites all the cartoonists in the world to participate in the special edition of the contest "Graphics, satire, and humor" created to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Unity of Italy.

1. The contest is open to all cartoonists, illustrators, and graphic designers around the world. You are also allowed to participate without competing. Such requests exempt the author from winning a prize, but makes it possible to still publish and/or display the author's work.

2. Theme: FRATELLI D'ITALIA
From the kingdom of Sardinia to the kingdom of Italy. From the Italian republic to the European Union. From Europe to the United Nations. Independence and globalization. One hundred and fifty years of events, action, heroes and influential people either in Italy or the European Union.

Foreign artists may express themselves on the following subjects:  the fortunes of the ideals of the 20th century, on the condition of democracy achieved in their own country, on the respect observed towards human rights and peace,  on the destiny of the concept of the State and national unity in times of globalization, or rather they can tell about their country's perception of Italy.

In the age of globalization try to express:
- The capacity to evoke concepts of unity and national identity, independence, liberty, and the state. Philosophers, politicians, and poets of the Italian rebirth (Risorgimento Italiano) and to retell the most important moments and the influential people that characterize the first 150 years of Italian history.
- The current condition of democracy, humanitarian works, and peace.
- The future of the state, of the state in times of globalization and fortunes of the current ideals of the '900.

3. Sections
The contest is divided into three categories:
A) Sardegna. This is dedicated to the artists that with any graphic technique, satire, caricature, or cartoon strip that brings to mind the actions and the Sards that, originating from the kingdom of Sardegna, were creators of the kingdom of Italy and of the Italian Republic.
B) Illustrations. Graphics, lithography, web art, computer art
C) Satire and Humour. Cartoons, strips, caricatures
It is permitted to submit an entry for each of the three categories.

4. Prizes
Total money prizes amounting: 25.000 €uro
- Prize "Sardegna": 1st prize 5.000 €uro - 2nd prize 1.500 €uro
- Prize "Illustrations": 1st prize 5.000 €uro - 2nd prize 1.500 €uro

5. Participation
A maximum of three works for each section may be submitted with any technique and any supported paper or canvas of the same dimension. The submitted works must be originals, and must arrive with the application form and the biography of the author. Each work must be signed and must have on the back the following information: the title of the work, the author's name, last name, address, phone number, and email address. The author must indicate on each work into which section it is to be entered.

UNI A4 (21 x 29,7 cm) otherwise UNI A3 (29,7 x 42 cm)

8. Technique
Free. The works can be created even with digital techniques as long as they can be printed in high quality, the signature must be by hand, and come with a CD that contains the digital file of the work in the format TIFF with the resolution of 300 dpi.

9. Jury
The acceptance of the works, the selection, and the assigning of the prizes are completely up to the jury nominated by the FASI.
The jury is composed of: Gavino Sanna - President, Giuliano Rossetti, Tonino Mulas, Luca Paulesu, Giovanni Sorcinelli 'Gi髕', Bepi Vigna
Bruno Culeddu: Secretary without the ability to vote.
The decisions of the jury are non debatable or up for appeal.
The results of the jury will be given directly to the winning artists and published on the website of the Burgosatira, of the FASI and of FanoFunny.com

10. Exhibitions
In 2011 (the anniversary of the Proclamation of the Unity of Italy), dates listed below, the works will be exhibited in Torino, Firenze, Roma, Cagliari and Burgos.
The works will be consigned to the Museum of the Satire of Burgos, for a permanent exhibit.
From Burgos will begin a touring exhibit throughout the various communities of Sardegna and all of Italy. This touring exhibit will also go abroad and be under the care of ACLI Sardegna and move throughout the Sardinian club worldwide.
The inauguration ceremony and the awards ceremony will be held in Torino, which was the original capital of Italy.

11. Catalogue
All the authors selected for the catalogue will receive a free copy of said catalogue.
12. Ownership and rights

Both professional and amateur cartoonists are eligible to take part in the competition.

The winners receive their prizes on condition that they are either present at the opening of the post competition exhibition or else they indicate a bank account where the money is to be transfered.

The works become the property of the Organizers and shall be included in the collection of the False Mirror gallery located in Lubuskie Stowarzyszenie Milosnik體 Dzialan Kulturalnych DEBIUT in Zielona Gora.
Every participant in the competition agrees to their free of fees delivery of works to the False Mirror gallery.

Every work delivered to the competition ought to be accompanied (on the reverse) with the readable author's signature, address and a telephone number.
By sending their works to the competition the participants agree to the above-mentioned regulations and they further agree to the free of fees publication of their works for marketing purposes connected with the competition and post competition exhibition.

The exhibition organizers are the final judges in the interpretation of these regulations.
By sending his/her works and taking part in the competition the artist agrees to the abovementioned rules and regulations.

1- THE TOPIC
Planet Earth. This is the name of our home. Water accounts for almost 70% of our planet's surface. However, the planet's name shows how important Earth's crust is for our living.

World population increases each day, and so does pollution and deforestation. We deforest for crops, we deforest for the construction of urban areas, we deforest
for everything the expansion of civilization, industrial development, and globalization stimulates us to produce, and we don't realize this deforestation leads to our soil impoverishment.

We produce tons of waste and chemicals which are discarded inappropriately on our soil. That's the same soil where we find our potable water, where our crops  yield. The very soil on which thousands of beings live, including mankind. By polluting and deforesting the lands, we are slowly killing ourselves.
With so many problems related to the environment, new alternatives must be devised so that our ecosystem and biodiversity will sustain for future generations.

The 3rd International Patio Brasil Environmental Humor Show Ecocartoon seeks to raise people's awareness creating citizens capable of acting in favor of Planet
Earth. How about you, what can you do for the soil conservation?

2- 3rd P罷IO BRASIL INTERNATIONAL SHOWROOM ON ENVIRONMENTAL HUMOR ECOCARTOON
This is a competitive exhibit consisting of humorous cartoons whose objective is to promote thought on this topic and other, more specific aspects. Allowed pieces are Charges (satirical illustrations), Cartoons, Caricatures and Humor Strips about the topic of soil conservation.

3- CONTESTANTS
a) Participants can be graphic artists in general, amateurs or professionals, of Brazilian or foreign nationalities;
b) Each artist may contribute a total of 2 (two) original, unpublished pieces. The categories Charges (satirical illustrations), Cartoons, Caricatures and Humor Strips will compete with one another;
c) Any artist participating in this contest is aware that he or she is the sole person responsible for the genuine nature of the submission as his or her own work, and will be held legally and criminally responsible in cases the piece is proven to be false or someone else's, either during or after the contest.
d) People directly involved with event processes are barred from participating in this campaign.

4- ENROLLMENT
a) Enrollment forms are available at www.ecocartoon.com.br;
b) Enrollment can be done either at the event website or by regular (snail) mail.
c) Only 1 (one) enrollment form will be accepted from each participant.
d) The organizers are not responsible enrollment forms not received as a result of computer technical issues, net congestion, failure in communication lines,
mishandled correspondence, Post Office strikes, as well as any other factor that may hinder a successful enrollment.
e) Enrollment will be made official through a confirmation e-mail.
f) By enrolling, participants agree to all the terms of this set of regulations, and agree to defer to the organizers the choice of winners and the destination and use of
the artwork.

4.1 ENROLLMENT VIA WEBSITE
a) Pieces shall be sent in A3 format (297mm x 420mm), in landscape of portrait mode;
b) Cartoonists wishing to participate with 2 (two) pieces must send both attached at the same time;
c) The organizers are not responsible enrollment forms not received as a result of computer technical issues, net congestion, failure in communication lines, as well
as any other factor that may hinder a successful enrollment via website.

4.2 - ENROLLMENT VIA REGULAR (POST OFFICE) MAIL
a) Pieces shall be sent in A3 format (297mm x 420mm), in landscape of portrait mode;
b) The pieces must be sent together with the enrollment for filled out at the post office or handed directly to the Patio Brasil Shopping administration, between
Monday and Saturday, 10am 7pm, at the following address: SCS Qd. 07 Bl. A Administra玢o - Bairro: Asa Sul; Zip Code: 70.307-902, Brasilia DF. The outside of the envelope/package should prominently display the name of the event: ECOCARTOON;
c) The pieces must be sent in appropriate packaging  the organizers will not be responsible for any shipping-related damage.
d) The organizers are not responsible for enrollment forms not received as a result of post office error, post office strikes, as well as any other factor that may hinder a
successful enrollment via website.

5- OWNERSHIP AND USE OF THE PIECES
a) ALL submitted and sent works will become the definitive possession of Condom韓io P醫io Brasil Shopping, which will hold unrestrictive and exclusive ownership rights to use the pieces as it wishes without it generating any type of compensation to the authors under any hypothesis;
b) At the conclusion of selection process, selected pieces will the exposed at P醫io Brasil and shown at www.ecocartoon.com.br. These pieces may also be shown
at or taken to other locations;
c) The organizers will not be held responsible for any damages caused by third-parties during the exhibition to the public or any deterioration resulting from handling
the piece during the event.

6- DEADLINES
a) Pieces will be accepted until April 14, 2010.
b) Piece selection will take place on May 14, 2010.
c) The exhibit will take place between June 01 and 20, 2010.

7- ASSESSMENT, SELECTION AND PRIZES
a) The following criteria will be used when selecting winning pieces: creativity, originality and pertinence to the proposed topic. Pieces will be selected by the
selection commission, whose decisions must be accepted by participants and cannot be appealed.
b) The selection commission will select, among all the pieces received, 100 (one hundred) pieces to be shown at P醫io Brasil Shopping.
c) Out of the 100 (one hundred) selected pieces, 4 (four) pieces will receive awards - 3 (three) will be selected by the organizing commission and 01 (one) piece
(aside from the three aforementioned winners) will be selected by popular vote, whose choice can also not be appealed.
d) In order to encourage new values among young cartoonists (less than 18 years of age), the jury will select a work for the award named "Young Talent" in
recognition for it's artistic potential. The awarded author will receive a trophy, have his work displayed at the exhibition and printed in the catalog of the event.
e) Any omissions relating to this set of regulations will be duly settled by the selection commission, though a P醫io Brasil Shopping referendum;

8- PRIZES
a) The authors of the selected pieces will receive the following prizes:
1st Place ................................R$ 4,000.00
2nd Place ................................R$ 2,000.00
3rd Place ................................R$ 1,500.00
Popular Vote Winner ............ R$ 750.00
b) The list of winners will be disclosed on 01/JUN/10, when the exhibit opens at 10am, and it will also be made available at the event website. Winners will be

c) Prizes will be delivered in up to 30 days after they are disclosed at the shopping mall's administration or via bank transfer in the case of winners residing outside of

4th International Exhibition CarCaricature - Zagreb 2010





This year 4th International Zagreb car caricature exhibition 2010 marks the 112th anniversary of the car's first appearance in Croatia. The car was driven by Count Marko Bombelles to his home in Vinica near Varazdin.

Since those early days, in all its guises, the car has become an essential part of everyday life. "His Majesty", the car, has become so necessary for work and play that it is difficult to imagine any activity which does not involve the use of an automobile. From basic functions such as travelling to and from work, to every other type economic, sport, cultural, political, recreational, tourist, health, military, police or "romantic" pursuit. It is omnipresent, ever desirable and IRREPLACEABLE! Life without a car is unimaginable. We ask ourselves how did we manage to live without the car for thousands of years.

With message and slogan of this years exhibition:
"WITH CAR INSPECTION YOU CONTRIBUTE IN PRESERVATION OF OUR ECOLOGY"

So our focus this year as well as a theme is going to be
CAR INSPECTION AND CAR VALIDATION CHECK.

With this theme we want to interest authors from around the world to warn public of a need to preserve nature. This is a fantastic opportunity for caricaturists from all around the world to "speak up" through their drawings and show advantages and disadvantages of their majesty - the Car.

The main sponsors for this year 4th International Zagreb Car Caricature Exhibition are the City Government. They will be presenting the Grand Prix prize. Croatian Automobile Club (HAK) - Zagreb Branch will be awarding the First Place Prize. There will be two more prizes (special acknowledgment) and 7 special recognitions. The other sponsors will be revealed on the opening day.

This exhibition provides Zagreb and Croatia with an annual cultural and artistic show which is rapidly attracting international followers - with a theme instantly recognizable by all - cars in our daily work and life.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

1.    All caricaturists (and those wishing to be one) on the planet Earth have the right to participate.

2.    Each participant may submit maximum of two (2) caricatures.

3.    All caricatures must be made on either A4 or A5 paper size (but not smaller than A5 or bigger than A3).

4.  Caricatures must be submitted on paper as originals. If a caricature was made on a computer it has to be signed by the author. Photocopies and other forms of duplication will not be accepted.

5.   Selection of caricatures that will be part of the exhibition will be done by of officials appointed by the Organizer, Huna d.o.o. Zagreb.
The following awards will be presented:

9. Prizes will be awarded by a committee of at least seven persons, of whom five will be sponsor representatives and two will be experts appointed the Organizers.

10. Cartoons which are awarded prizes become the property of the sponsor awarding the prize to the artist or remain the property of the Organizers.

11. Cartoons which are not awarded prizes become the property of the Organizers or, at the explicit request of the artist, can be returned (on payment of shipping costs) or may be collected from Huna d.o.o. 30 days after the exhibition.

12. All exhibited artists give the right to the Organizers to use, publish and exhibit cartoons, without compensation or payment, for the promotion of future exhibitions and projects.

13. The Organizers reserve the right to utilize cartoons with third-parties to promote the artist and the exhibition.

14. By submitting cartoons to the 4th International Car Caricature Exhibition Zagreb 2010 the artist agrees and accepts and the terms of participation.
